On June 24, 2021, the Wuhan National Human Genetic Resources Library successfully held the fifth academic salon with the theme of "exploration of the transformation and application of human genetic resources samples" in the 418 conference room of Wuhan Institute of Biotechnology. Guo Anyuan, School of Life Science and Technology, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, was invited to the academic salon. Guo Anyuan is a professor and doctoral advisor of the School of Life Science and Technology of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, a winner of the "Excellent Young Scholars" of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and an outstanding talent of the Ministry of Education in the new century. Professor Guo described the theme of this academic salon from the aspects of tumor gene detection and tumor multi-group data analysis.

Next, Professor Guo Anyuan told about the relevant contents of early screening for cancer and drug guidance for cancer treatment. From the pathogenesis of cancer to the risk assessment or early screening for cancer that can be passed through the detection of genes, Professor Guo used a large number of pictures and data to demonstrate and explain, making it easier for the participants to understand and remember. Later, the technology of liquid biopsy was mentioned, which indicated the progress of tumor development, drug resistance and other information, and guided individualized precise treatment. In 2015, it was rated as the top ten scientific and technological breakthroughs by the authoritative media "MIT Review".

Later, Professor Guo Anyuan focused on the bioinformatics tools for tumor immune regulation. Professor Guo himself is also a big bull in bioinformatics. He mentioned the platform for the analysis of oncology data, which is divided into public data (TCGA and other data) and self-test data (tumor transcriptome data). The data and relevant information of Professor Guo's own bio-information platform test are used for explanation, so that everyone can understand more clearly and intuitively the achievements of Professor Guo's current work, as well as some methodological tips.

Finally, after Professor Guo selflessly shared his painstaking achievements, many participants from Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Hubei Cancer Hospital and Wuhan Aier Eye Hospital applauded, and put forward some questions and puzzles on the spot for in-depth communication with Professor Guo Anyuan. Professor Guo patiently replied to everyone's questions, and the fifth academic salon activity also ended successfully.
