The first phase of the preservation center can store 15 million tubes of samples, which can store multiple types of samples such as blood, urine, feces, tissues, DNA, RNA, etc. According to different application directions such as clinical, scientific research, and industrial transformation, different storage temperature layers of -80 ℃, -140 ℃, -196 ℃ are used for scientific and standardized storage, which can meet the sample storage and application needs of upstream research institutions, universities, research institutes, and other units, And downstream enterprises' industrial transformation application needs.

Comprehensive security protection layout and high standard resource storage, ensuring sample storage with peace of mind
With the development goal of "being the first in China and the first in the world", Wuhan Sample Library builds the whole life cycle processes of sample collection, processing and storage in accordance with international and domestic standards, and establishes a sound safety management system and quality assurance system to ensure high-quality storage of samples. Conduct full lifecycle management for each link of sample collection, transportation, reception, subcontracting, processing, warehousing, storage, and outbound, using high-throughput storage devices such as automated ultra-low temperature storage systems to achieve automated and efficient sample access;

Talent team
The person in charge of the sample bank, the person in charge of the preservation institution, the directly responsible supervisor, and other relevant staff have all received professional training, such as training on human genetic resource management, pre job training for biological sample banks, internal auditor training for quality and capability recognition of biological sample banks, and training on general requirements for quality and capability of biological sample banks (GB/T 37864-2019).

Wuhan Sample Library is the first third-party human genetic resource sample library approved for preservation after the promulgation and implementation of the "Regulations on the Management of Human Genetic Resources of the People's Republic of China".
Center Introduction
The preservation center is dedicated to the standard and high-quality storage of human genetic resources. With the goal of focusing on scientific issues including serious disease and reproductive health and so on, Wuhan Biobank preserves many types of human genetic resources throughout the life cycle from the cradle to the grave. Supported by automated ultra-low temperature storage system (-80℃, -140℃), automated nitrogen canister, gaseous phase nitrogen canister (-196℃) and low-temperature refrigerators(-80℃), Wuhan Biobank has the storage capacity of 15 million tubes of samples. Depending on the standard sample management system, each tube of samples is traceable, which could provide reliable support and security of sample storage, utilization and sharing.
Combining the solid infrastructure and comprehensive management and the quality control system, the preservation center is gradually realizing automation in sample processing and quality control, and aims to building a national platform of human genetic resources storage, undertaking the responsibility to preserve important national human genetic resources, meanwhile, striving to become an important node in the network of national human genetic resource preservation to promote high-quality management, efficient utilization and high-level development of regional human genetic resources.
