The Information Center focuses on the intelligent, full-lifecycle management of human genetic resource information, enabling end-to-end traceability of sample data, as well as data mining, integration, and open sharing. Relying on Wuhan Biobank’s six major information management software systems—namely, the Sample Information Management Platform, the Clinical Research and Follow-up Platform, the Multi-omics Data Analysis Platform, the Medical Imaging Platform, the Scientific Research Big Data Analysis Platform, and the Sample Information Sharing Platform—and a 30PB private cloud storage platform, the Center achieves an integrated and synergistic approach to “storage, management, and utilization,” thereby opening up limitless possibilities for the development, utilization, and open sharing of human genetic resource information.
The Information Center provides data collection and management services for clinical data, follow-up data, omics data, imaging data, and sample data. It uses unified data standards to clean and integrate data, ensuring data integrity, reliability, and traceability. The center supports complex searches with results returned in seconds, thereby enhancing data utilization. It also offers data storage and computing services, enabling end-to-end digitalization—from data collection and storage through to data analysis and application.
The Information Center can address issues such as data fragmentation, lack of management, susceptibility to loss, low data integrity, inability to assess data quality, lack of data traceability, low data utilization and output, shortage of data analysts, absence of unified data standards, difficulties in data retrieval, and insufficient computing and storage resources.
