The Third Party Medical Laboratory
Guided by the clinical application, the third party medical laboratory of Wuhan biobank will work for risk assessment, prediction, early alert, early screening and classification of major serious diseases. On the one hand, it can be an important part of the accessing to the medical system for biobank; on the other hand, it is the fundamental for achieving sustainable development.
The planned test would be mainly organized around genetic diagnosis, drug screening and other featured projects such as genetic disease screening (newborn/carrier screening, deafness gene screening, etc.), pharmacogenome (cardiovascular drugs, safe drug use for children, psychotropic drugs, etc.), solid tumor and liquid d biopsy (solid tumor mutation detection, liquid biopsy, methylation analysis, hormone detection, etc.) and health management (obesity, etc.)
In the future, the third party medical test laboratory will be built to include the platforms of reference consultation, analysis and judgment, fast calculation and accurate decision making for the use of precision medicine. The laboratory will build a demonstration, application, and promotion system of precision medicine clinical solutions for typical diseases of Chinese population, and promote a number of precision medicine and molecular detection technology products into the national medical insurance catalog, in order to provide scientific and technological support to significantly improve the health level of the population, reduce ineffective and excessive medical treatment, and avoid harmful medical treatment.
